Dan Deacon at the First Unitarian Church in Philadelphia 04/03/2009

Dan Deacon and his 14 piece ensemble almost didn’t make it to the show because their van broke down on the second day of tour. However, after renting a U-Haul truck, they made the trip from New York City to Philadelphia. The show itself was one big sweaty dance party. Throughout the night, Dan had to plead with the crowd to take a few steps back so the people up front would not get crushed. This led to 20 seconds of relief for the victims before the onslaught continued. Despite this, everyone at the show appeared to have enjoyed themselves, whether they were theĀ  ones being crushed or not. Dan and his ensemble will be touring throughout the US until mid-May in support of his recent release, Bromst. Don’t miss a chance to see his masterpiece live.
